Over five episodes, the Community of Practice (CoP) series will speak to the four chairs of the CoPs established in the fields of Entrepreneurship Education, Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), Competence-Based Learning (CBL) and Curriculum Development for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).
For the second episode of this series, we chatted with Professor Keo Motaung, previously the Director of Technology, Transfer & Innovation and now the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, Innovation & Engagement at the Durban University of Technology (DUT), on the importance of prioritising Entrepreneurship Education in the higher education sector.
In our discussion, Professor Motaung emphasised that if universities want to remain relevant and respond to the needs of society, they need to produce curricula that encourages students to become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurially-minded.
